Michael Friedhofer, RA, AIA
Principal, Director of Architecture
Mike is an architect with more than 35 years of expertise in all aspects of the practice of architecture. He has led numerous projects through the entire design process, from planning and design through construction documentation and execution, as well as participated in community design charrettes to develop comprehensive master plans for building complexes and sites.
A significant amount of his professional experience includes working on complex historic building design projects that involve leading multi-disciplinary teams including both professional and skilled trades. Over the course of his career, many of his projects have received recognition for their excellence in planning and design, including from the AIA as well as other national, state, and regional entities. He holds a B.S. in Architecture from the Catholic University of America.
Mike has been very active with Somerset, Inc., Somerset, Pennsylvania’s Main Street Program, practically since its inception in 1994. He serves on numerous committees in the organization including as chairman of the Design and Historic Preservation Committee, as a member the Board of Directors, and as Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors. Somerset Inc. is one of the longest continuously operating Main Street Programs in Pennsylvania.
Mike is an avid Mopar muscle car fan, railroad history buff, and likes to tend to his plants in his woodland garden.
